Malaysian news is abuzz over the first Malaysian doctor & so-called angkasawan (Malay for astronaut) in space. A few hours ago, the space craft Suyoz blasted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in
I can't help but feel that this whole she-bang has garnered extra attention because this particular commercial astronaut is rather
Yes, all my lady friends in Malaysia are going ga-ga over Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor. Never mind the fact that he isn't doing anything significant at the ISS apart from studying some live cultures and eating Eid or Hari Raya (end of Ramadhan celebration) goodies.
One of my female friend read Dr. S's blog and discovered his food list: biryani chicken, satay chicken, rendang Tok, sliced dried mango, banana rolls (hmpf!), tempe, ginger jelly (yucks!), Roselle granola bar, kuih Raya bangkit. To cap this off, another friend hoped that Dr. S, for his own good, won't suffer from diarrhea as a result of consuming all the rich Eid food he brought to space. Would be tricky if he suffered severe stomach ache in his space suit. Hmm.....

Yup..! read about the first malaysian in space too..!! and i was going.. hey..! not bad.. for Malaysia.. eh..??
mama bok: yeah, he's the first glorified space explorer from M'sia. i read somewhere that this is a freebie trip thrown in after the M'sian Govt. purchase some Sukois from the Russian Govt. but it's a "touchy" subject which i'd rather stay away from.
wahahahaa.....!! But you know, I guess if it hadn't been him that was chosen, I think the whole angkasawan she-bang thing wouldn't have attracted that much attention. I think 3/4 of Malaysian women were glued to their TV sets last night watching the blast off. (Me included la. Hahaha)Boy, did he look nervous, sitting in the space capsule clutching his manual. Hahahaa!
millyvanilly: i know! the second choice isn't that easy on the eyes. haha! oh yes, Ange's husband was at KLCC watching the launch with all the VVIPs & MPs.
This piece of news was mentioned in one of the Japan tv news programme! The newscaster commented that Dr. Sheikh is "good looking"..hehehe..
mk: looks like his fame is spreading fast!!! haha!
